& The Louisiana Men

These musicians have the Missisippi Delta in their hearts and get their inspiration from the melting pot called New Orleans. Blending swampy Rhythm & Blues, spicey Zydeco, Soul and Gospel into their Southern Soul concept they guide you through the swamps of Louisiana and the Mississippi Delta. While Louisiana Men work their way through lots of great songs and a multitude of styles you always can tell that Louisiana is their stomping ground. Alex Siegers actually recorded one of his projects in New Orleans with Allen Toussaint producing.

One of Louisiana Men's identifying features are the fabulous three part harmony vocals - together with the funky percussion of Alex Siegers an overwhelming performance.

And another truly outstanding and original feature is the use of the autovalve blues harp in creole Zydeco. Hans de Vries -aka Homesick- perfected his style touring through Europe for years sharing the stage with artists like Dr. John, Willy de Ville and Los Lobos. (see biography)

Their latest 2 CD album "Back To Nothing" is Homesick's 15 th album and was received with enthusiasm and got superb reviews like the 4 star review in "De Volkskrant". "Back to nothing" was recorded over the last two years live and in the studio. Louisiana Men completed it with some surprising extras !

"Nobody, and I repeat, nobody does succeed in playing this music from the Southern States so satisfying as Hans and his companions."
